There are three types of fire which is commonly encountered in general working areas.
A : Fires with trash, wood, paper or other combustible materials as the fuel source.
B : Fires with flammable or combustible liquids as the fuel source.
C : Fires involving electrical equipment
D: Fires with certain ignitable metals as a fuel source.
to fight these fire we should use following types of fire extinguishers:
A : Store water type
B : soda Acid, Foam type
C: CO 2
D : special type of extinguisher to fight metqal fire
however now ABC types of fire extinguisher are available which are quite easy to use and user friendly.do check your fire extinguishers regularly. you should follow IS: 2190 for the inspection and servicing of the fire Extinguishers. Proper training should be conducted for the employees from all the department on regular basis. this will give confidence to employees to fight the fire because the initial few minutes are very critical in fighting the fire.
